This foundation was born from a dream—but even before the dream, there was a beautiful light leading the way.

It all started with a girl and the light within her…
From early on, Kiki had a smile that truly seemed to brighten every space she entered. Those who met Kiki would always tell us that she just had “something about her,” and complimented how she was always smiling. We called it her light. Keatan Lily’s Light. It just radiated from her without effort, and was accompanied by this quiet strength and empathy that is such a beautiful part of who she is. Long before the days of diagnosis, we reminded her often:
Nothing can dim that light.
When we entered the unforgiving world of childhood cancer, everything became a whirlwind. We were surrounded by uncertainty, fear, and overwhelm –but we never stopped reminding her of that unique light within her. Through long hospital days, treatments, tears, and pain, those words truly became an anchor: “Remember that beautiful light within you, my girl. And remember that nothing can dim it.” She carried those words with her then, and still does now. She showed a resilience beyond words, and that light remained just as bright.
..and then came Asher Lux.
From the moment Asher entered our lives, we knew he was placed in this world for Kiki. Even the way he came to us, through a compassionate breeder guided by her faith, all felt so meant to be. The blessing for Kiki was immediate, their bond growing quickly and deeply with such incredible trust and love. Asher provided her independence, and Kiki provided him purpose. We watched her confidence bloom and her light grow even brighter. Asher has been an absolute blessing to Kiki and our family, and we are endlessly thankful for their bond.
Though her journey is still challenging with complex chronic illnesses, her light has not only grown, but our girl has allowed others to share it with her. She found a passion for advocacy and lifting others up, eventually discovering that this was therapeutic for her healing as well. Kiki has been a source of comfort, encouragement, and hope for so many others in the chronic illness and service dog communities. She leads with her heart and reminds others that their struggles do not define them, that their light deserves to be seen too.
Early on in our own journey, we felt a pull –an undeniable calling to give back. We have been blessed with the support of foundations, fellow advocates, and a loving community, and we wanted to give the same to others in our own unique way. We knew we had a purpose ahead of us.
Kiki and Asher’s bond and journey gave clarity to exactly what this purpose would be.
We saw a need for education, resources, and real advocacy in the service dog community. We also saw the need to help other families navigating chronic illness discover the blessing that a service dog can offer their child during their fight.
Asher doesn’t just keep our girl safe. He walks beside her on this journey in a way no one else can. He provides her with a way forward and amplifies her light with every step. Sharing this blessing with others is an honor, and we are thankful to have the opportunity to do so.
